Tyson Ballew and friends throw a wonderful show. Hung with friends (sometimes in a 4 Runner), ate pizza w/Bodee, bought records at Ear Candy, listened to Pink Cookies in a Plastic Bag Getting Crushed by Buildings and Jesus and Bocephus. Played a super good-feeling 30 minute set to a smiling crowd, ending with The Things We Used to Hate. The other bands were all wonderful. Then we drove till the sun came up because we're dumb. Ultimately, a fittingly low-key but fun end. Thanks, folks.
Friday, March 4 - Billings, MT. The Muleskinner. With Snow Bored and Idaho Green. Our last show in Billings and also our CD release show for Ghostwalking. Snow Bored got everyone warmed up. We played a very long set (for us)....like 20 or 22 songs...it was a blast. So many of our friends were there having a good time with us. We handed out a ton of beer (and pegged Beth Regele with a can (sorry!)), gave away all our merch, and had a great time. Idaho Green played their last set in Billings (for now) and smashed through their set with ferocity. They even played a Noise Noise Noise song (Kelly, Nels, Joel, and Mat reacted with glee). Thanks for hosting us Johnnie and thanks for coming, friends!

Megagiant/Idaho Green: Fucking Sick Tour 2015:
All dates in June and with Idaho Green (duh).
Thursday, 18 - Billings, MT. Aesthetic Agony. Dad Fight, Snow Bored. Kickoff goes great! Everyone retires at a reasonable hour to prepare for the stupid drive in the AM.
Friday, 19 - Fort Collins, CO - Foot Foot Fest!
We attempt to leave early and miraculously only get behind by an hour! Pit stop in Wyoming at some cute diner. Some of us eat Austin’s vegan gumbo instead because he didn’t charge and was fucking delicious.
We play inside an art gallery space and Idaho does their set later in a more spacious art gallery setting. Lots of beerses, munching, and talking to friends. Them Coloradans sure know how to treat a band.
Saturday, 20 - Denver, CO. Bottom Bracket. We woke up and hung for the beginning of Foot Foot, hosted at the house where we slept. Got more vegan munchies. Jumped on a trampoline. Austin, Nels, and AJ take care of a van problem and Dan, Kelly, and Caleb take a sweltering walk for beer and hear: “If you ever have the privelege to drink your own pissshrooms, I highly recommend it” . Jordan...disappears? We convene and leave for Denver (last minute show confirmation at Bar Bar). We arrive. Austin has quiet troubles. Everyone goes on walks. Back at the show, Renfro does sweaty shirtless cocktail tricks and breaks several of his own bar glasses/bottles. Kelly gives him his shirt. Crazy guy smashes a chair to Idaho and threatens to overturn the PA speakers during Megagiant. He is told to “calm down”. AJ: “I could take a chair to the back.” Austin: “Bar Bar Jinx.”
We drive back to Ft. Collins and enter the same house to Coleman telling us about “not conching my god”.
Sunday, 21 - SLC, UT. Boing! Anarchist Collective w/ Murder Mystery Party, Shayna Rain, Worry. Worry rocked hard, Shayna Rain sung beautifully, We saw lots of former Mooks members and have a great time watching Murder Mystery Party do a Father’s Day set: “What IS daddy?” Thanks Robin! We stop at a grocery store and are asked to give money to many different people with the same story. Curious. We drive a bit to Caleb’s good friend Shilah’s house, where Austin cooks for everyone and we sleep, though Shilah is not home. Her roommates must be saints.
Monday, 22 - Boise, ID. The Broad Street House. Another last-minute confirmation! We arrive and take walks for food and drink. Hang out and socialize with the local folkels. Brynn and her roommate (roommates, if you count the black widow) are gracious hosts and allow every to play late and sleep there. We played with a local opener, a cool feminist band, and a band from Portland (sorry...I waited to long to write this and totally forgot your names). We also witness a lovely proposal from one lady to another.
Tuesday, 23 - Portland, OR. Ash Street Saloon. Stranded by Choice. Another long drive, but we arrive and hang out downtown. Arcades where you can drink and play classic games, comic shops. AJ goes straight to the venue to take full advantage of the free food and drink. Stranded by Choice hooks us up with yet ANOTHER last minute show! Thanks guys! We sleep at Austin and Jordan’s Aunt’s place. Austin gets FUCKING SICK.
Wednesday, 24 - Portland, OR. Hebesha Lounge. Nels spends a bit of time finding a place to fix his pedal with half the crew in tow. Jordan and his aunt take Caleb to see the sights. Austin studies/takes tests. Hebesha Lounge hosts their last show! We played with Fire Nuns (they were rad as shit!) and another local....who had a phenomenal drummer...whose name we forget...sheesh. We project a cozy fireplace over us, Idaho goes for sports. Thanks for the show, Devon Shirley! After several unexpected on-the-house drinks, we begin to head back to Kelli and Wally’s, Dan and/or Jordan requests the cush lounge, so we put on the slow jams and groove back to the pad.
Thursday, 25 - Longview, WA. Chinese Gardens. Last Shot, Confederats. It becomes apparent that Caleb’s costume needs a wash... We were received well and it was really cool to play in a Chinese Restaurant! Thanks to Christina Zamora! We head to Seattle to stay the night with Fonz, Adam, and Natali.
Friday, 26 - Bellingham - Make.Shift w/ Xavier's School For Gifted Youngsters and Sweet Invicta. Our old pal Kyle takes us to a fish and chips shop and he gives us a bunch of shirts. We bid him farewell and head north to see another longtime bud, Tyson Ballew. His bad plays 90s-ish emo stuff and are great. Sweet Invicta were quite good at what they do too. Make.Shift is a way cool place and the kids there seemed to be stoked. We eat taco stand noms and head back to Kyle’s.
Saturday, 27 - Coeur D'Alene, ID. 203 Indiana Ave. //localpavlov//. Jordan, Kelly, and Caleb go get coffee/pastries and check out records. We say bye to Kyle once more and head out. A tire blows out in the middle of WA, but a young couple of dubstep fans stop and help us out. We give the gentleman a swig, but do not offer one to his pregnant girlfriend. We get it fixed and head to Coeur D’Alene. House show where the males are all unshirted and having fun! The bar across the street is the hangout and we stop in and out throughout the night. Nels, Austin, and Kelly, follow Gil and go bridge jumping in the dark. Exhilirating! ...Or however you spell it. We drive to Missoula to spend the night.
Sunday, 28 - Missoula - VFW comedy+bands night! w/ FUULS, Buddy Jackson, Kyle Kulseth, Becky Margolis, Zack Troxel, Roerick Sweeney, and Will Thomas. What a great end to a great tour. AJ and Kelly go daydrinking (just like that great song!). The show happens and is a total blast (of course!). A buncha people we have’t seen forever show up: Seff Propios, Quinn Conley, Matt Nichols, Forrest...and our other buds are there too: excellent people surround! Jordan and Dan go off to hang with close friends, Austin- still FUCKING SICK- goes to rest, the rest of the crew heads to Amanda and Marty’s where they sit on the roof drinking all sorts of beverages and telling Dad jokes. They eat some make-shift Martybread, Marty douses Caleb with a tub of water, and everyone crashes by 4 am. The next day, we make our way home, and the only positive to the tour ending is that we no longer have to listen to The Eagles. FUCKING SICK TOUR 2015.
--
Friday, June 12 - Billings, MT. The Muleskinner. Spencer, lanedecay, Dad Fight. Another excellent all ages show at the Mulie!! lanedecay was so damn pleasant to listen to...catchy, laid back, great. We were able to get them good traveling cash too...always nice. Dad Fight lyric sampling: “D-A-D! B-B-Q! I’m cooking up some meat for you.” Fucking raaaad! Spencer was his usual charming, fun, funny self. Afterward, he and Kelly went out on the town. Thanks Johnnie!
Tuesday, May 26 - Billings, MT. The Railyard. Couches, Rubedo, Halfway Killed (tour kickoff). Like every Halfway Killed show, it was a party! Couches impressed everyone. AJ loves Rubedo. Like, AJ and Rubedo sitting in a tree/k-i-s-s-i-n-g! Aww!
Tuesday, May 5 - Billings, MT. The Railyard. Crown Larks (Chicago), Snow Bored. Cinco de Mayo. Crown Larks set up a ton of equipment. Let’s see...what else? hmmmm...uh...stuff happened...not bad stuff...but also not stuff that was so good as to be memorable. ...We should not wait so long to post about past shows.
Saturday, April 11 - Williston, ND. The James Memorial Art Center. Deathbed, Pink Tower, Arbitros, us, Marc Winter, Duffy and the Beer Slayers. Wow. Williston's scene is a lot like Billings in The Shrine's heyday (Only maybe more conscientious. ...No security/authority figures and nothing was broken or stolen!). Great venue. Everyone was cool/kind. Went back to The Pink Tower (that's what we're calling Pink Tower's residence) in Ray, ND with Duffy and friends in tow. Paige's guacamole, Costco brand Light Beer, pizza, Dwarves records, and more Catchphrase. The morning consisted of huevos rancheros and gin & juice. We refused the pie. Billy's b-day weekend concluded with him having his Glorman.
Friday, April 10 - Billings, MT. The Muleskinner. Terrific all ages show! Snow Bored, Deathbed (Williston, ND), Megagiant, Pink Tower (Ray, ND). A great time was had by all. $60 in DONATIONS for touring dudes (pretty dang good for these parts!). Pizza, beer, & Catchphrase afterwards.

Almost a Tragedy opened, Show For Nobody played what was reportedly their last show (yeah right!) and had the crowd join them onstage (Jordan's voice was out), Idaho Green slayed. SLAYED. The crowd joined them too. Pi-Fire got bloody, Sensory played better than they ever have (and for a third time, the crowd hopped up!). Everyone was super enthusiastic! Caleb hurt his foot during the Idaho set, Nels and AJ headed to the Pub Station, Kelly called out some shitty behavior. Over a grand was raised for charity! Shityeah!

Hang time at the bar/venue with the Ft.Collins/Greely/Denver/Laramie dudes. We headed to the Art Lab and played to a receptive audience. AJ's first show with us and it was good. Lots of cool bands! Head to Katie's for zany sports bloopers and sleep. We had middle eastern/Greek breakfast (and a smoothie) in the AM with Amos and Jessa.

Thursday, August 7 - Chico, CA. The Basement of Frustration. Drove 12 hours to Chico. Austin gets the good news that he can go to Korea (and that he is still a vegan (the two were not related)). Pool cool-down and bbq (steak, brats, veggies, seaweed, lime cashews, serrano beer! Heaven!). Went to the show: cool bar with great house sound and cool movies playing. A few free drinks!
